World Sight Day, or internationally known as WSD (World Sight Day) - has been celebrated since the year 2000, every second Thursday of October. This date was created to draw the public's attention on the prevention of visual impairment and to raise public awareness on this topic.
To commemorate the date, the Carlos Machado Museum, as an inclusive museum, shares a visit to Locus Acesso, the Support and Information Association for the blind and partially sighted (low vision). The association's main purpose is to combat discrimination based on disability and, in this context, promotes visits to museums and libraries accessible to people with visual impairments.
