Alto da Rocha do Canto da Baía

Santo André Center

The Carlos Machado Museum marks the centenary of the birth of José Dias de Melo with an exhibition dedicated to the Azorean writer, whose works have deeply influenced both regional and national literature. Opening on April 15 at the Santo André Center, the exhibition will offer visitors an immersive experience into the world of Dias de Melo, who throughout his life explored themes deeply rooted in Azorean reality, such as the connection with the sea, emigration, and the identity of the island people.

The exhibition is a unique opportunity to revisit Dias de Melo's legacy and understand his importance in Azorean culture.
