Sacuntala – Memories of a Pawn in the Struggles for Freedom is a theatre performance that, through a video performance and the work of four actors, brings to life the story and ideas of Sacuntala de Miranda, a remarkable figure in Azorean culture. Directed by Rosa Coutinho Cabral, the production explores themes such as multiculturalism, integration, freedom and the role of women in society, combining original texts and images to invite audiences to reflect on the importance of memory and the defence of freedom.
