In a partnership between the Carlos Machado Museum and the Classical Orchestra Association of the Center, the concert "UN'AURA AMOROSA" will take place on August 22, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at the Carlos Machado Museum - Sacred Art Center (Igreja do Colégio).

Featuring Lauro Lira on cello (principal cellist of the Classical Orchestra of the Center) and Pedro Lopes on piano, special guests include soprano Katerina Kotsou (Greece) and tenor Dario Prola (Italy).

This program, part of the centennial celebrations of the death of the great Italian composer Giacomo Puccini (1858 – 1924), will feature arias from the operas that immortalized him, such as TOSCA ("Mario, Mario," "Vissi d'arte," "E lucevan le stelle"), MADAMA BUTTERFLY ("Un bel dì vedremo"), and TURANDOT ("Nessun Dorma"). The program also highlights composers like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with the performance of "Un'aura amorosa" from the opera COSÌ FAN TUTTE.
