Música no Museu 2025

Flute and Piano Recital

On July 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM, a Flute and Piano Recital will take place at the Sacred Art Centre of the Carlos Machado Museum, as part of the Música no Museu 2025 concert series.

The programme includes works by C. W. Gluck, J. M. Leclair, G. Enescu, L. Delibes, C. Griffes, C. M. Widor, and F. Doppler, performed by Inês Alves and Helena Silva (transverse flute) and Ana Filipa Sousa (piano).

The performers have developed regular activity in the context of recitals, competitions and orchestral projects, both in Portugal and abroad, with training from institutions such as the Haute École de Musique de Genève, Escola Profissional Artística do Alto Minho (ARTEAM), Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, and Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra.

Free admission, subject to venue capacity.

 

Biographies

Helena Silva (Transverse Flute)
Helena Silva began her musical studies in 2011 at the Viana do Castelo Music Academy, in the class of Professor Sílvia Cancela. In 2021, she joined the Escola Profissional Artística do Alto Minho, continuing under the guidance of the same professor.
Throughout her academic journey, she took part in various wind band and symphony orchestra internships, working with conductors such as Alberto Roque, Délio Gonçalves, David Fiuza, Rita Castro Blanco, Javier Viceiro, Ivan Meylemans, and Victorien Vannosten.
She has attended several masterclasses, working with renowned flutists including Francisco Barbosa, Adriana Ferreira, Ana Ferraz, Vasco Gouveia, Nuno Inácio, Michel Bellavance, Silvia Careddu, Julien Beaudiment, Sebastian Jacôt, Emily Beynon, Sibel Pensel, and Felix Renggli.
She has participated in a number of competitions, including the “Terras de La Salette” International Wind Instruments Competition, Paços Premium, Zodiac International Music Competition, Concours Jeunes Solistes, and the Dutch International Flute Competition. She received awards in the 7th edition of the “Prémio Ilda Moura”, the 1st “ScalaFlauta” Competition, and the 5th International Wind Competition of Alto Minho.
She was also awarded in the Chamber Music category at the 10th and 11th editions of the IdipsuMúsica Competition, performing in a flute quartet and a flute sextet, respectively.
She is currently continuing her studies at the Haute École de Musique de Genève in the class of Professor Michel Bellavance.

 

Inês Alves (Transverse Flute)
Inês Alves began her musical studies at the age of six, in the 2014/2015 school year, at the Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, in the class of Professor Yuri Pankiv. Between 2015 and 2023, she studied with Professor Sílvia Oliveira.
She has participated in masterclasses with flutists Ana Maria Ribeiro, Gil Magalhães, João Lourenço, Marina Camponês, Nuno Inácio, Joana Correia, Francisco Barbosa, Herlânder Sousa, Adriana Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho, Ana Ferraz, Mafalda Carvalho, Löic Schneider, and Beatriz Baião.
She has taken part in orchestral internships promoted by institutions such as the Médio Tejo Wind Orchestra, Braga District Orchestra, and Orquestra XXI, under conductors Paulo Martins, Borja Quintas, Válter Palma, Jan Wierzba, Adrián Ronda Sampayo, José Eduardo Gomes, Élio Leal, David Fiuza, Martim Sousa Tavares, Luciano Pereira, and Dinis Sousa.
She performed as a soloist in April and June 2023 with the wind and symphonic orchestras of the Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, conducted by Válter Palma and Juan Maggiorani.
She received awards at the Gondomar International Music Competition, Jovem.Com Competition, 6th and 9th editions of the Ilda Moura Prize, 1st Arpejo Editora Interpretation Competition, XV Luiz Peter Clode Competition, "Young Talents" Flute Prize, VII Gilberta Paiva National Music Competition, and the 11th Alto Minho International Wind Competition.
In March 2024, she was awarded the Platinum Prize at the Berlioz International Music Competition. In chamber music, she received 1st prize at the 2nd Margarida Magalhães de Sousa Competition and the 11th edition of the IdipsuMúsica Competition.
She is currently studying at the Escola Profissional Artística do Alto Minho (ARTEAM), in the flute class of Professor Sílvia Cancela, and is a member of the ARTEAM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Javier Viceiro and Diogo Costa.

 

Ana Filipa Sousa (Piano)
Ana Filipa Sousa began her musical studies at the Academia de Música de Paredes, where she studied with Professors Marta Vieira and Marco Oliveira. She later enrolled at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra of Metropolitana, where she completed her degree in Piano for Chamber Music and Accompaniment under Professor Alexei Eremine.
She also completed a Master’s degree in Instrumental Pedagogy and a Master’s in Music Education. She attended masterclasses with Marco Oliveira, Liudmila Roschina, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, and Michel Portal (chamber music).
She studied piano with Marco Oliveira, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, Alexei Eremine, and Artur Pereira; chamber music with Cesário Costa, Paul Wakabayashi, and Paulo Pacheco; and accompaniment and sight-reading with Anna Tomasik and Yan Mikirtumov.
She has performed with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra, the Atlantic Coast Orchestra, the Con Spirito Orchestra, and with soloists such as Pierre Dutot.
She regularly performs in chamber music recitals, both as part of the Diptyque Duo (flute and trumpet) and the Duo Vchetireruki (piano four hands), among other ensembles.
She currently works as a piano accompanist and piano teacher at the Esposende Music School and at ARTEAM in Viana do Castelo.
